Walk & Talk Counselling

Combining psychotherapy with walking in nature offers numerous benefits, enhancing the therapeutic process. This approach exercises both mind and body, and the healing potential of nature creates an ideal setting for therapeutic exploration, interventions, and personal growth. Just thirty minutes outdoors can significantly reduce cortisol levels, boost self-esteem, improve mood, reduce mental fatigue, and lower stress. The physiological effects of exercise, including the release of endorphins, provide a natural mood boost.

Many clients find the natural environment less intimidating, as walking side by side reduces the intensity of continuous eye contact. During a walk and talk session, pauses may occur, offering opportunities to connect with the natural surroundings — be it the sky, the sea, or the trees — fostering a heightened sense of presence. The location of the walk and talk session can be discussed upon booking. I have a few different options that have both forest and beach settings.
